Celebration of life for Lovis

Posted on Friday, January 8, 2010

Our sweet little princess daughter and sister Lovis Sophie Tews died on Sunday, December 20, 2009, shortly after midnight in the arms of her Mama and Papa, with her “aunt” Hanneke and our wonderful palliative care doctor Catherine McNally by her side. Her fight against one of the most aggressive and fatal brainstem tumors, DIPG (diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma), is over. Lovis fought with courage, determination and grace. We miss her terribly and have yet to learn how to live without Lovis in our daily lives and in our future. Through our daughter, we learnt to live and to love unconditionally – a gift that has just begun to unfold and will be with us for the rest of our lives.
We would like to announce the celebration of life for Lovis which will take place on Saturday, January 9, 2010, at 1 pm at the Wolfville Baptist church (at the corner of Highland Avenue and Main Street). This day will be to remember Lovis – and to thank this amazing community for all the different ways it supported and helped us on our challenging journey. All you people are wonderful – we are so blessed to live here. If you want to join us on Saturday, please bring a photo of you with your name and address on the back.
Lovis – you will not be forgotten! We love you endlessly.
~Joerg, Stefanie and Solveigh Tews
